The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce recognizes GBS for its fast-growth
Virginia Beach, VA – October 01, 2009
– The GBS Group was recognized today by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce as one of the 2009 Top 10 to Watch for being the fastest-growing companies in the area. Each year the Chamber and the Small Business Development Center select five businesses to honor with the Small Business of the Year awards in each of the five cities of southeastern Virginia, along with the companies to watch.
The GBS Group was selected as one of the “Top 10 to Watch” based on the company’s staying power and performance, employee growth, innovation, leadership, quality and customer satisfaction. GBS, along with the other companies recognized were honored at the Chamber’s award luncheon on Oct. 1 at the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel & Waterfront Conference Center
GBS President and CAO Sarah Golden accepted the award on the company’s behalf. Sarah credits the firm’s co-founders, her husband and company CEO Bob Golden, and Bruce Green, COO for together working to successfully grow the company in the rail transportation industry, in work with the U.S. Navy and other defense agencies, and the firm’s recent expansion into the energy/offshore industry. “GBS has grown beyond our wildest expectations and each and every staff member throughout the country has been in part responsible for our success,” Sarah said
