The GBS Group believes in the power of people making a difference in our community. To that end, we are in the process of establishing The GBS Foundation, a private nonprofit, funded primarily from profits of the company, with additional support from the public through fund raising projects and requests. The Foundation’s motto will be:

Work to make a living. Give to make a life.

Bob and Sarah Golden of Virginia Beach are spearheading the establishment of The GBS Foundation to benefit Virginia children and families in need. The Foundation will raise and provide support primarily to build relationships with families and children of fallen soldiers. In establishing the Foundation, Bob and Sarah noted, “Our hearts break every time we hear of a family struggling after their father or mother is killed during military service to our country. Their sacrifice is overwhelming.”

The GBS Foundation will also focus on educating Virginians about how to help military spouses and children; what to say, what to do, how to offer support, what their specific needs might be, what their unspoken needs might be, and how others can become a resource for these families. Along with helping military families, The GBS Foundation will offer support to disadvantaged children in our own community.

”GBS employees, many of our friends, and so many people in this community give generously to numerous causes and we admire every gesture, large and small. We hope our efforts to help those in need will inspire others to join in.“

The GBS Foundation will be a volunteer organization with people contributing their time and talents on the board and in lieu of paid staff. All funds raised or contributed go directly to those in need. The board will hold a key fund raising event each year to benefit The GBS Foundation and the agencies and people in need it supports.
