The GBS Group Assists Amtrak with Wi-Fi on the Acela High Speed Line
The GBS Group is proud to have assisted Amtrak in the launch of its much
anticipated free Wi-Fi service onboard its Acela high-speed line that runs from
Washington, DC to Boston. All twenty Acela trainsets are equipped with the Wi-Fi
service which was introduced to passengers Monday, March 01, 2010.

The GBS Group Celebrates 3 Years of Success
The GBS Group recently celebrated its 3rd anniversary, with a party recognizing
GBS partners who have helped the company reach this milestone. Notably, Jim Todd,
President of T-Solutions, Inc., and Mark Jones, President of Q.E.D. Systems, Inc.
were noted for their early support with subcontracts for GBS back in early 2006.
CEO Bob Golden also recognized several founding employees and presented them with
GBS jackets.
GBS wins another SeaPort prime contract
The GBS Group has won a new SeaPort-e prime contract to support the US
Navy. GBS environmental engineers and other personnel will provide
support to NAVSEA’s Environmental Management and Policy Division in the
areas of Environmental and Occupational, Safety and Health (EOSH),
Environmental Management System (EMS) Initiatives, and Range
Sustainability Environmental Program Assessment (RSEPA) Management. The
GBS Team is led by Brian Trees, GBS Environmental Engineer and Senior
Engineering Consultant.
GBS presents at the ASME Rail Transport Division 2008 Fall Conference
The GBS Group presented a technical paper at the recent ASME Rail
Transportation Division 2008 Fall Conference. The paper, entitled Remote
Health Monitoring Increases Reliability and Condition-Based Maintenance,
focuses on the development and implementation of a real-time health
monitoring system to enable condition-based maintenance and remote health
monitoring of two electric fleets operated by Amtrak.
GBS and the NAVY
In contract highlights, The GBS Group recently won a prime contract to provide
information technology support services to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock
Division (NSWCCD), Ship Systems Engineering Station (SSES) in Philadelphia, PA. The
GBS team of engineers and software developers will provide In-Service Engineering / Life
Cycle Engineering Management support for the Navy’s Total Ship Information Management
System (TSIMS), Submarine Maintenance Monitoring Information System (SMMIS), and other
machinery information system programs.
